Yeah, these people have to change things and "improve" them--whatever happened to the old belief that when something works, you stay with it? Everyone has to one-up themselves now, continually come up with something "new" every five minutes--which I find sad. Change is good--when it's actually needed, when it's not really necessary, leave it alone, I say.

I'm actually using firefox now, because it's so much easier to check my email and come back into blog, because the tabs are quite good, but I don't have my google and yahoo toolbar, which until now, never realised how much I use them both. I haven't got my thing that makes the font size larger, smaller or normal, I haven't got my little envelope for my email so I can see at a glance if I have mail, haven't got my bookmarks icon so I can just click on it and open bookmarks on the side, haven't got my little fish icon that will translate other languages, haven't got my spell check (crying bucket loads over this one). I'm p*ssed off

It works perfectly for me.

Trust me, if the comments, PM's and e-mail's I'm getting are anything to go on, you're merely lucky. Apparently not every download is going successfully---these people tweak their downloads all the time--or someone just e-mailed me, and apparently the most recent 'TWEAK' is not a good one.

Yes, they could have messed it up since I downloaded it.
(Actually, I've just checked and I use version 2. I bet you could still download that from somewhere if you wanted - sounds like you'd better)
Tom.

It's fine for me too...didn't upgrade to Firefox 3.1 which it keeps telling me is now available as Firefox 3 works excellently and has done for as long as it's been free to download...sorry you're having trouble with it...unless it doesn't like your Windows...which one do you have? I've got XP Home and it's happy with that...GBHs...XX

I've got an early version of XP. I'm going to get rid of 3.1 and try downloading an older version or Opera. Hugs back xx

Forgot to add...I've had Windows 98 and XP Home and Firefox now for about twelve years without a problem...only one occasional glitch which required me to reload it....GBHs...

I agree, go back to version 2. Upgrades ALWAYS come packing bugs it seems and if you are technical that's fine but if not who needs the irritation.

Hi!
The worst thing is, Firefox seems to be in total denial, and when you go for help, they give you crap advice, or get all defensive and snarky with you, for daring to criticize their baby.
They killed my sound and put a virus on my computer, that I'm STILL trying to sort! I'm using an older version now, and refuse to go back and upgrade to 3. No way!!! Someone should sue the creeps.

I hear ya playwrite27,
I went to their forums to try and figure out what was causing all my problems or get a fix, but no one would help me or could help me... And when I said I was switching back to firefox too they started calling me names and made some dumb remarks... Not real cool! -

Yeah, I'm planning on contacting my state's attorney general, and filing a complaint--mind you, it will probably be for nothing, but maybe it will make Firefox sit up and take notice, the jerks.

Firefox 3 on linux is a biggest steaming pile 'o' crap.
1. Randomly stops loading css style sheets.
2. Stops responding half way through ssl transactions (especially if they are linking ssl.googleanalytics.com)
3. Once it has stopped working on a site, you can not access the site at all, even restarting the brower does not help, Wait 20mins then try again and it works for a while. (The site works fine on other browsers, such as opera, while firefox is trying to access the site)
I use to love using firefox2, it had it problems as well, but none of them were show stoppers like this.-

Someone told me Firefox 3 is a worse CPU hog than any other browser on the web--there is a download of some sort on their website, to allow you to control the flash player function, I'm told but not being a computer geek, I really don't know about such things. All I know is FF 3.1 sucks and the guys that developed it should have a truckload of fresh manure piled on top of their heads, 'cos they obviously don't give a s*it about their browser issues.

Hello, Carson!
I hear ya' ol' son! I rue the day I ever got talked into Firefox 3....not touching Chrome with a 20 foot pole, either. Like to ship them both off on a garbage barge to New Jersey.
20 Comments on Firefox 3 is CRAP! Don't upgrade if you know what's good for you!
