  • My blog as my punching bag--ignore the last post

Just ignore that last post--these feelings have been stewing inside me for a couple of days--and they all got let out at once--my blog is my punching bag.

I feel marginally better, now that I've ranted and cried and banged my verbally did some head banging against this blog's virtual wall.

I'm not totally okay, still very despondaent and helpless feeling...but more resigned. I'm gonna' hop the trolley bus in a minute, go sit by the pier and buy and ice cream, and tell God I think he's a stupid prat for ever having invented the human race. He should have known when to let well enough alone, ha-ha. Stuck with lions and tigers and bears....oh my.

If my computer's still working when I get back, I suppose I'll "see" you all later.

  • Question inspired by Normal Guy...

Normal guy asked the cheeky question as to why natural mineral water which has been lying in the earth for centuries, needs an expiration date.

This led me to wonder why, so many people donate food which has expired a year (or years) ago, to food pantries for the poor.

I mean, I can see a month or two...or even three or four perhaps, out of date, perhaps, but I've seen people donate food in 2007, that expired in 2005! Why do people do that? I too, have cleaned out unwanted/unused food from my cupboards--like when mum and dad both passed on--and given it to churches for their free food pantries, but I ALWAYS checked the dates, first!

I mean, if these people wouldn't touch the long-stale food, why give it to the elderly, poor mum's and kids, and disabled people? That's not really charity, is it? Or is it?

    Discuss.

  • Why Dr Who REALLY hates Christmas

"Who cares about alien invaders! I swear, if I get one more Chia pet in my stocking, or hear them play "Mama Got Run Over by a Reindeer," one more time, I'm going to go back in time and do away with Christmas, once and for all!"

  • Firefox 3 is CRAP! Don't upgrade if you know what's good for you!

I've heard from no less than four people in less than 8 hours, who all say they've had major issues with Firefox 3--adding myself on to the list, that makes 5 of us.

Avoid downloading the latest version of Firefox, AT ALL COSTS. Stay away from it, and also avoid Avent 11.6 build 20, as well.

  • Adirondacks Gone Wild: Environmentalist? Or just...Mental?

Here's what one of those republican conservative butch redneck nutjobs we have far too many of, up here, wrote in my coments, regarding the couple that died horribly, and the putting of cell towers in wilderness areas along the motorway through New York's Adirondack mountains:

"You didn't mention that the accident occurred in the middle-of-the-night, during one of the worst winter storms of the year. That storm was well predicted.

I don't get why we need Universal Cellphone Coverage Over Every Square Inch of The Planet.

Me personally, I don't drive after Midnight during ferocious blizzards. Also, I like to pack a few basic survival items in the car too. Guess what? I also drive much slower.

You should see how some of these "poor folks" continue to drive like they are in the middle of New Jersey during July when visibility is 20 feet".

Here's my response to this...whatever he is. (I refuse to think of him as a "man." He obviously--by his total lack of respect for humanity, doesn't deserve that designation.)

Well, sunshine, this is what I have to say to you:

I find ANYONE who puts aesthetics before human life, an abomination.

I don't see you as ANY different in your values when it comes to the lives and safety of your fellow human beings, than the 9-11 terrorists. NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER.

I probably love trees more than you do. I spent more hours in the woods of the upper Hudson valley growing up, than I did in my own room. I actually have hugged a tree for comfort, when I was in despair.

Yet, unlike you, I KNOW that a tree can be re-planted, however, once a human life is lost, it is lost forever.

Very obviously you do not love anyone--except yourself, perhaps. I mean, truly love them. Or at the very least, you've never known the kind of loss and grief that occurs when you've lost someone, or you would probably place a higher value on humanity.

Also very obviously, you've just shown yourself to hundreds of people from all over the globe, to be a very selfish, shallow and narrow-thinking person. Do you wear blinders like the carriage horses in Lake George? Maybe you should, so people can be in no doubt what kind of...person...you REALLY are.

The bottom line: moblie phone service WILL save LIVES.

The fact that you prefer pretty scenery over human life really belittles you, AND means that perhaps those 9-11 terrorist weren't so wrong about America, in the case of Americans such as yourself. You are a morally lazy, stupid, selfish prat.

  • I want THAT job!!!

Cindy Straightlace goes on her annual lunchbox inspection of the National Guys in Really Tight Swimwear Team---

CINDY: "Is that a pair of swimming goggles in there, or have you just watched an old Madonna video?"

  • Just some blather...

It's going on half-past midnight, and I should have been in bed and hour ago, but my stomach's got other plans, I'm afraid. So, here I be.

I'm afraid I am feeling a bit sorry for myself, over this whole computer thing. Oh, if I could only be rich and take this thing in for servicing, or do what some guy (with money) at work did, and just buy a whole new flipping 'puter. Must be nice. I 'spose I've been lucky, really. Only have had about four or five big issues in the six years I've had this thing--roughly one big headache per year, so I guess I'm foolish to complain. Still...whenever my computer acts up, it gives me a hollow feeling inside, like I'm about to lose a dear friends...silly, isn't it? It's just an inanimate machine.

Still, it's very disheartening, the thought of losing yet another of life's little pleasures. Life doesn't mean much, when you start to shrink down to purely "survival" mode, when those things you valued and/or treasured, took for granted even, slip away...or even are in danger of slipping away.

Yet, I am loathe to grieve my losses. I know others have lost far more than I. I am not ungrateful for my being where I am, yet I do sometimes chafe at both my forced inactivity, and my gradual loss--for the first time in my lifetime-- of the intense desire to stop mouldering and move forward.

Ah well, that's enough with the philsophical rubbish.

I had to shut my window, 'cos either someone's smoking a big joint under my window, or someone's burning some especially stinky wood in their fireplace....Phewww! Gawd, that really stinks---like burning fresh-mown grass, which trust me, really can smell really rank. Even tho' it smells remarkably like pot (which I never could stand the smell of, just because it reminds me of burning grass-which I'm familiar with, because where I grew up, we had a lot of spring grass fires), I really suspect that they may have some wet and/or green wood burning...their room is gonna' stink bad, the idiots. That's the thing about firewood--or any type of wood used for floors, or whatnot...it's like posh wine...it has to age to be really useful.

So, gonna' take a stab at sleeping. Have a good Wednesday all.

  • Avent sucks, but Firefox is no better! IE stinks...

...isn't there ANY decent browser out there?

I can't use IE, cos MS won't let me do ANY updates...when I try to install an update, it won't install, 'cos it tells me I need to do an update...the same update that won't install! MS sucks, and I'm fed up with them.

Avent browser had some serious issues...which they refused to address.

Now, I just installed the latest version of Firefox--and, the SOB has messed up my computer, and I can't listen to the radio or Youtube any longer!

Life sucks and then, if I'm really lucky, maybe I'll just die already. I really love listening to internet radio, and watch Series 4 of Dr Who, and music videos and old TV programmes on YouTube...now, I'm screwed.

My speakers work just fine, I tried them on my card games, and the sound is fine.

It's stinking Mozilla. All they have is a help forum, and no one EVER answers you on thise stupid forums...so, too ill with the stomach bug tonight to screw around anymore....tomorrow i have to find yet another browswer...I don't care for OPera--it's hard to use, but IE quicks me out and won't update, Avent is garbage, Firefox is a headache...maybe I should just throw this f'ing computer out, pack up the cats, and go live in a f'ing cave somewhere. . I'm.....angry, down in the emotional sewer, and just so...disgusted. My life just sucks so much, some days...I really hate being me, I mean that.
