...stars.
Since moving to the city in November of 2007, for the first time, I cannot see as many stars as I used to.
Oh, I can see a brilliant twinkle here or there, sometimes a planet, or even the space station--which can look like a star.
But, back when I was young, living in New York's upper Hudson Valley, and even a short time ago, when I owned my caravan in the southern Adirondacks...I remember blacker than ebony skies, so filled with stars, you couldn't begin to count them all. Some nights, it was so clear, you could see the milky way with your naked eye, looking like some far-distant wisping cloud, stretching across the heavens.
But, thanks to the stupid prat who thought those orange halogen lights were a brilliant idea, seeing the stars is an iffy thing, nowadays.
So, just got home a short while ago, from the specialists, now after a quick "lunch" of a bowl of frosted bite-sized shredded wheat, I'm off to work in a couple of minutes.
Just had time to Hoover Bonnie Prince Charlie with the Shop-Vac. He's shedding like mad, and I think it's driving him bonkers, 'cos he seems a bit out of sorts today, but was better after a ran the suction hose over him. He's sooo--fat. I really should have named him Henry the Eigth! You can do pretty much anything with Charlie, he's just that mellow. Well, he's so fat, just watching him run is a bit like watching a cow loping from the milking barn into the field...even down to the udder swaying, as Charlie's developed a bit of a pouch down below. I think you could drop an atomic bomb on Charlie, and he wouldn't know the difference.
He does get excited when people come over tho', he adores people. Well, Charilie's naturally curious and loves seeing anything new--not that he does much about it any longer. He's definitely become devoted to lying around and doing his impression of a corpse at a wake.
Well, I'm off, have a good night all, won't be back online 'till around 2 or 3am UK time, so I don't reckon most of you will be up when I hop back in here.
Have a lovely evening, all.
