  • Doctor Who Christmas Trailer---In July???

    That's pushing things a bit, isn't it?

  • What do you all make of this???

Okay, my stats have gotten really, really strange.

For months and months (even when I was internet-less at home), my visitor stats have averaged 700 to 800 per day. Then, last week, those stats averaged 1500 to 1800 per day. Now, I'm down to less than 400 views per day--my lowest stats since the spring of 2007!

Yet, despite the sudden drop in visitor stats, my pageviews are through the roof---just over 225 visitors, yet over 1000 page views? And yesterday it was exactly the same--sudden drastic drop in visitor stats, but a vast increase in page views...is something wrong with BCUK's stats?

Has anyone else noticed this on their blogs?

I'm not stats obsesssed. I can go whole weeks without bothering about it, but since that 3000+ hits I got, two Saturday's ago, I've been looking at the stats out of curiosity.

    Hmmmm--very odd indeed.

  • Borrowed from lledeb:

seven words to describe my weekend:

    Tired

    Work

    Tourists

    Laundry

    Trolley-bus

In five words or less, describe how does this differ from any other weekend?

    Got out of Glens Falls!

  • Russell T. Davies crushes a popular Who theory

There's been a theroy bopping around fan-dom for years, that the Doctor is actually part-human. The suggestion was even written into one of the Doctor Who novelizations, nearly 2 decades ago. I forget which one it was, now, but remember reading it.

I even wrote a part-Time Lord character into one of my own stories.

But now Davies, either deliberately or accidentally, has crushed that notion down into the dirt.

I'm telling you, the man's either a cynical bastard when it comes to us older fans, or he's just a sick little sadist. :)) :))

  • The Further Adventures of David Tennant--Sex God

Filming on episode 13 had to be delayed for two hours, after Tennant and Piper got so intense with their on-camera snog, that their lips accidentally locked together. Reports have it that Piper's new husband was less than amused, and that Tennant spent a lot of time hiding in his trailer for the rest of the shoot.

  • Frustrated!

I get so mad at myself these days.

Since becoming ill, my brain isn't functioning properly.

I drop letters from words (like the s at the end of a plural word), spell one word when I mean another ("an" instead of "and," or "is" instead of "it," etc.), and have totally forgotten how to spell words, I had no trouble spelling a year or two ago.

It's so incredibly frustrating, you have no idea. I get so mad at myself--I try not to, but can't help it.

I make so many stupid mistakes when writing...I used to turn in near-perfect copy, in college...now...I can't even write in my blog!

  • David "Ten-inch" Finally reveals the truth behind the legend

I was about to go to bed, when I realized that I haven't "teased" the illustrious Time Lord cum sex god...oh, maybe I should use those two words together...it wasn't a pun, it really was accidental...no, really.

Anyway, the poor wee fella...I mean Tennant, not his _____, well anyway, the poor guy must be so exhausted from all of the erm--(ahem) workouts he erm, does erm, to keep fit (snort), that I thought I'd give the gent a bit of a break this afternoon, and talk about other stuff.

but, it really wouldn't be my blog, if I didn't do something, so...here we are with tonight's edition:

"Well, after Billie Piper let it out about her nickname for me, I had to do something, didn't I? So, I went to Milenium Special FX and well...let's face it, if a woman can artificially beef up her boobs..."

  • Nite all...

So, it's coming up on half-past ten in the evening, and I've still some laundry and shopping to put away...and dinner to eat. Bought a ready meal for tonight (with my food stamps). I try to avoid ready meals, but sometimes I know if I don't get something "easy," I might not bother to eat at all, the way I've been feeling, lately. So, I bought a chili pot pie. Never had a chili pot pie, mind you. I've had chicken and beef pies, made Canadian pork pie and shepherd's pie, but never chili pie. Hope it's good...

Anyway, have a good night all, pleasant dreams...see you in the morning. Nancy G.

  • Knackered and Chillin'.

I bit the bullet again, and did my shopping. Gosh, food is just going up and up and up. Bought some peanut butter and jelly...well, I'm not keen on peanut butter, so I bought honey-nut peanut butter and black current preserves--they were both on sale, so I got them to have in the cupboard, for the lean times. I sort of like honey-nut peanut butter, and certainly like black current preserves.

I'm really tired now, though. Thankfully, don't have to report to work until noon, tomorrow. I met a co-worker in the market. She says that work was sending people home after two hours--that the new rule is, if you don't make a three sales in two hours, you go home. That STINKS. It's hardly worth it to come into work for 15 dollars (after taxes)! The kicker is...the owners make money whether we make sales or not--they've already been paid. Bastards. But, around here, good-paying jobs--or ANY jobs over minimum wage, are hard to find...and "sit down" jobs for those of us who are disabled, sick or elderly...near impossible to find, unless you're a business professional--like medical secretary's and para-legals, or an state worker or educator.

Well, I think another summer lay-off is in our future.

I need to chill out. I'm sore, tired and now...not happy about work.

    Music time!

  • Doctor Who Really Phony!

    Cripes!

over 2,500 people tried to phone the Doctor's mobile phone number, that was flashed on the Tardis's monitor screen on the episode Stolen Earth.

Okay, I'm sure some of these people were children...but, apparently, some of the were ADULTS.

AND, some of them apparently complained when they couldn't reach the DOCTOR!

    Okaaay then....

Well....someone call out the Whovian straightjacket brigade and tell them to bring the freakin' truck.

And I thought I was bad, watching Who ever day?

Here in the states, on film and television, they have a special phone number that doesn't exist...it always begins with "555." Now, I've actually known this for over 30 years. Apparently, they also do this at the BBC, have a special (phony) number just for showing on television. Does no one in the UK know this? Has no one noticed this in all their years of watching BBC programmes?

Some people really need to get off their sofas and settees, drop the remote and go outside. Just walk away, people...oh...that would make a good idea for a play or story...a race of people who never leave their homes and think the real world is on their tele...well, it's probably already been done, I suppose.
