  • Dr Who Caption for Sunday

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DOCTOR GOES COMPANION-LESS TOO LONG:
"Oh, Dalek Kahn, you're deep voice is sooo-sexy, I love that rude thing you do with your eye-stalk...."

  • Good news

Stopped by the office to drop off paperwork, and told the lay-off is off! I'm still laid off day shift, but have been shifted to night shift (try saying that 3 times fast, without saying something rude instead, ha-ha), for the rest of the week.

Was a bit ill, Saturday, but marginally better today. I didn't stay after work to write more, because of that.

I need to write a new Dr Who story, to keep busy. The play I'm messing about with, is stalled. And writing Who is a bit easier than a play--'cause the main characters are already established, probably. Anyhow, anyone have ideas about what the next story should be about? Just throw them at me, and let me catch them.

Since I'm on half-time at work, I've been looking at doing some volunteer work, again. Meh--the attitude these posh women have, here in Glens Falls! One woman looked at me like I was something nasty she stepped in, and the other was just bored and pretty much blew me off. Nuts to that. I've been doing volunteer work, on and off, for over 30 years, but it doesn't matter in Glens Falls. If you're not posh, you're nothing.

Well...so I'm stuck at home, I guess. I'm not considered posh enough to join the book, historical or theater groups, can't affrord the fees for the model train and astromomy clubs, and not chav enough to enjoy hanging out at the bars--plus, who in their right mind wants to hang out at a redneck bar by herself--especially when one doesn't drink or sleep around? I'm stuck. As of the 20th April, I'll not have been out of the vincinity of Glens Falls in 15 months.

Gosh, I miss college. The activity, the interaction, the groups of classmates and friends, the challenge of learning, doing something above and beyond what you've ever done before, going to new places...gone now, sadly. Forever, I suppose.

It's hard, you know? I went three years doing nothing much, stuck in a rural moutain town on a fixed income with no transport. Then, I got a car and went back to college, and mum got sicker...so, it was all go-go-go for five years, full-time 2 year and 4 years colleges, international (overseas) studies, taking care of mum (and sometimes, dad--who each lived around 50 miles apart)...some months, I was working (studies and caring for mum and our home) full out, 7 days. Some weeks, especially during final exams, I might even go 24 to 48 hours without sleep!

And then, in autumn of 05, it stopped.

And then, my life began to unravel..and stop, unravel and stop...with some good things, in-between (all too rarely, alas)...and it's been that way, ever since. And, I'm very tired, now.

Well, my aunt, out of the blue--one I rarely ever see or speak to, sent me an Easter gift of a 10 dollar gift card/voucher to a discount shop. So, I bought a tee shirt I liked. It's black with blue/gray/white guitars and a drumset on it, and another that I liked. It was buy one/get two free, but I couldn't find a third tee in my size...all the others were medium or small (I'm a big boned, ha-ha). My nephew and sister both take a size large. So, I picked out a thrid tee, anyway, in Medium. I'll find someone to give it too. Maybe I'll send it to David Tennant, someone PM'd me that it was the man's birthday...he likes music too, I think. Anyway, I'll find someone to give it to, I suppose. I needed a couple of new tees, as weekend shifts at the office are casual dress, jeans and such.

Most of my current tees are of the religious sort--(very holey), or rather rude--(dirty/stained). :DD

I'm not big on fashion, but do enjoy getting new (or good used) clothes....probably because I only get to do so, once or twice a year--if that. Between what the lady at the office gave me, and the gift card, I've made out like a bandit, this week, as far as clothing goes. I'm set for summer, I reckon. Now, if I can just find some comfy walking shoes..ha-ha. ;)

Well, I've blogged here, and on my other blog, now I'm off for home. Cheers, all. Nancy G.
