Okay, as an added blog to the previous one, here's a pic of me (before the haircut), being butch (and ugly) in the desert. Any questions?

I admit, the new haircut is easier to deal with...and looks a lot neater.
But, yesterday, a till clerk said, "Will that be cash or credit, sir?"
Okay, due to the rain, I was wearing a baseball cap. Still...I looked at myself in the mirror this morning.
Bad mistake. Gosh, I'm ugly. No, really. No wonder men used to think I was desperate. (Wasn't.)
I looked in the mirror at my short-cropped hair, and though..."my Gawd, I look like a lesbian."
No offense to lesbians, mind. It's just that, well...I didn't used to care about stuff like that...used to wear a cowboy hat a lot, and jeans. When it came to dress, I always made my own paths to follow. Until recetnly, that is.
In my late-middle age, I'm finding myself suddenly wanting to be a bit more...mature, in my dress. Oh, still do the jeans and tees and western shirts--would even wear a cowboy hat, if I could afford one, though probably not quite as often.
Even my tastes in footwear, have changed. I could have bought a more "manly" work boot, or a pair of cowboy boots with walking soles/heels (boots with riding soles/heels are not meant for walking)...instead, I got a work boot meant just for ladies. Funny, when I was a teen, there were no such things as ladies work boots--ladies western riding boots even, were scarcer then men's.
Still, my closet does have a lot of plaid in it, and some western shirts, as well.
No matter what, it seems, I'm just plain butch, no getting 'round it.

Yup. I done been tagged again.
Okay, well, I wrote it down and here's my responses.
1. What's the strangest date you've ever been on?
In the early 80's, a blind date took me to a live pigeon shoot in some hay field somewhere...guys with shotguns shooting pigeons being released from cages.
2. Best date you've ever been on?
A guy I dated several times (who later, very impolitely bragged to me that he was seeing two other women--who, apparently, were "giving him some", thus ending our relationship, just as I was starting to get very fond him)...we went antiquing in the country, and stopped in a local pub for lunch. He was engaging to talk to, and we shared a few of the same interests--and, he wasn't pushy at all, about snogging and whatnot.
3. Worst date?
Last one. The guy lied rather broadly, in regards to his age and marital status, basically kidnapped me--we were supposed to just go to a historic site and walk around--instead, we spent 10 minutes at the fort, then instead of taking me home, he drove me back to his hotel (against my wishes, btw). It was really scary and I have never-ever dated again, ever since. And I probably never will.
4. When was your last date?
See above.
5. What would you do on a date with David Tennant?
No. I like DT, honestly I do...but can't see me dating the man. Doubt either of us would have a good time. I'd probably bore him to death. The guy seems rather young and hyper to me...I'm old and slow. Can't see him enjoying a chat over coffee or a quiet walk through a historic site or what-have-you.
This last one is a rather silly question, isn't it? The man is a celeb who lives 3000+ miles away from me...don't think it's ever going to be any issue, ey?

Well, the good news is, my big cheque came yesterday...paid the two months rent I owe, the electric bill (Natl. Grid put me back on the budget plan---to the tune of thrirty dollars more to pay a month, then I used to pay), and even have enough left over to put aside for a rainy day--plus, I finally was able to get my new walking boots off of layaway (the farm store lets you make payments on merchandise for 2 months). I've not had new boots in 4 years, and the boots I bought used in '06 are just about worn out. I still owed twenty five dollars, so I paid it off and now my feet are happy again, ha-ha.
Oh, and did I mention that I now have plenty of food to eat, and, I'm no longer overdrawn at the bank?
Next few months MAY see me back online at home, as well...we'll see.
