Just a question to the blogging masses:
What on earth is the difference between a "pageview" and a "vistior" in the stats?
Can't find a thing on the site that explains this difference. Help a newbie out, ey? Ta!

There's a whole lot that confuses me and several more of us - the biggy at the moment is how do you get in the top twenty bloggers chart? Sorry I can't help try Walrus he's into all this.
a visitor is each individual that looks at your blog, a pageview is each time someone visits you.
for example, if i came back to your blog 100 times today, i would still only be 1 visitor but you'd have 100 pageviews from me.
enjoy blogging! ![]()
Eeeeh! You're smart young man!
You wrote that luverly, playwrite. I want to ask whys you calls yourself that cos I ain't gonna call you an oldmaid and thats a fact!
But I guess its all in the blog innit? All the details. I'll be catching up on it then. wifey.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Now I get it. Thta was confusing me too. Thanks for clearing that up.
Yeah, dunno' why the site doesn't just have a little help thingy that says: "this is what this means and what that means." It's not too clear. Thanks for enlightening us!
Wifey: I actually am an old maid--no, really. I am. And I don't mind a bit of it, honest.
I call myself "playwrite" 'cause I like to write plays (and fan fiction). I am not, however a "real" playwright...though I do know a few. One class in a community college, does not a playwright make, sadly. But, there you have it.
And...GS and Pilot, if you read this. I'm called "dustyboots" because when I was 17 (I think), I worked after school for a large riding stable...one day I came into work, all strutting and proud as a peacock over a brand new pair of riding boots my parents had given me as a birthday prezzie. My boss at the riding stable had a preverse sense of humor. He sent me out to water down the sand in the indoor arena. I did and without warning, he came tearing by me with the tractor hauling a rake behind him--much, much faster than he usually drove..and drove close enough to me to make my nice shiny black cowboy boots look tan. He started calling me, "dustyboots" after that..then the kids started teasing me...I was in a work/study programme at my high school, and some of my classmates worked there at the stable as well...the name stuck right on through the spring semester 6 months of "dustyboots"--only nickname (well, only polite nickname) I'd ever had.
So, there's the really boring story of my nicknames. You can wake up now. ![]()

Not sure exactly, but it would make sense to me if a 'visior' was registered each time someone visited your blog, while a 'pageview' is registered for each page of your blog a 'visitor' visits.
